All my life, movement has been my first teacher.
In early adulthood, I began to notice that running long distances dispelled anger, brought clarity and created enthusiasm. Dancing connected me with a vitality and a sense of expression when words lacked potency, and practicing yoga helped me contact emotions buried deep inside that I had not previously known.
It’s through these physical activities and my body’s responses to those activities, that I began to perceive the body is full of information, speaking it’s own language and desperately trying to get my attention.
I wanted to become fluent in this language as soon as possible. So, I began following my senses to various forms of bodywork: Yoga, Chiropractic medicine, Acupuncture, Somatic Psychotherapy, Reiki, therapeutic massage, and meditation. On this journey, I’ve been drawn into Somatic Psychotherapy because of the incredibly direct conversation it elicits between the mind and the body.
After extensive education and training in Somatic Psychology, I founded Spiral to Your Center to support individuals and couples in the process of expanding how they know themselves. Our private practice is located in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.
In addition to holding a Masters Degree in Somatic Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, I draw from a life of engagement with dance, athletics, Authentic Movement, Ayurveda, Yoga, Reiki, and the dynamic intelligence of the natural world.
I continue to study the evolutionary principles of Formative Psychology® developed by Stanley Keleman. My professional mentor is Somatic Psychotherapist and Performance Coach, Mr. Peter Wright, LMFT.
Out of the office, I continue to expand how I know myself in my personal life, by climbing in trees, dancing to my husband’s music, reading on a wide variety of subjects, playing with my pup, and hanging out with horses..
